NOTICE: Pan-African Hearings on Poverty and Climate Change

5th & 6th October 2009, Cape Town

Hosted by Oxfam and EMG

The Pan-African Hearings on Poverty and Climate Change will be held on the 5th & 6th October 2009 in Cape Town (at a venue to be announced). The Hearings is one of a number of such events taking place around the world in the lead-up to the International Climate Change negotiations in Copenhagen in December.

While the Copenhagen meeting’s focus on emissions reduction, technology transfer, financing and other political agreements is important, we should not lose sight of the real impact that climate change has on real people – and what organised communities around the world are doing!

The Hearings will be an exciting combination of heartfelt testimony, input from dignitaries and experts, performance art, the latest science, interactions with eminent persons, media stunts

—— and a chance for YOU to get involved! —-

The venue will be announced shortly.
